Attempting to uncover the substrates of our social, imaginative, and introspective minds pushes against my spiritual and artistic wonder for the existence of these capacities in ourselves. Working on and around AI will continue to bring me closer to the magic, spirituality, and divinity of the world. Mystery itself isn't what preserves the sacred. If AI feels like a threat to these sacred tenants of the world and our existence it's because our understanding of ourselves and the natural world is still so impoverished. We're building in it what we know how to, but we cannot build in a machine what we do not understand in ourselves. I view science and technology as one medium for these thought forms and seek to understand them more deeply by instantiating them in machines.
